Can the Hubli - Dharwad region become an automobile hub?
Yes, the region has all that is needed to become an automobile hub.

Vast tracts of land, excellent rail-connectivity, air-connectivity and availability of a large pool of human resources makes this region an attractive destination for an automobile hub. Dharwad already has the Tata Marcopolo bus plant which manufactures buses. Dharwad was one of the locations to be shortlisted for the Tata  Nano plant. Now, the state government has invited Hero Honda to set up their plant in either Hubli or Dharwad. The state governement has also invited Mahindra and Mahindra to set up a tractor manufacturing unit in Belgaum.
