Akshaya Patra Foundation
The Akshaya Patra Foundation runs one of the largest NGO-run school meal programs in the world. Akshaya Patra is a strategic school-meal, holistic development program. It is an inclusive, social movement to empower underprivileged children with education tools to make them globally competent with food for the body, mind and intellect to create a human resources talent pool for the future to propel India into the league of developed nations.

Akshaya Patra, Hubli

In partnership with Mrs. Sudha Murthy, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation, The Akshaya Patra Foundation has started the nutritious mid-day meal program in Hubli from July 2004. Initially, 3500 children studying in 14 schools were covered. As of December 2007 the Akshaya Patra program is serving mid-day meals to 1,80,861 children in 644 schools every day spread across the districts of Hubli-Dharwad and Haveri.

Vidya Poshak is a registered NGO involved in assisting and empowering the meritorious but impoverished student community. It is a society for development of education.
