Visit Jog Falls via Hubli

Well, you are planning to visit Jog Falls and looking for the best route. The best route to visit Jog Falls is via Hubli, which happens to be a convenient base considering its air-connectivity, rail-connectivity and availability of good hotels and restaurants. 

Jog falls in located in Shimoga district of Karnataka state. It is the highest plunge waterfall in India and is a major tourist attraction. The falls is created by the Sharavathi river. 

Are you from Hubli - Dharwad? 
If you are from Hubli - Dharwad, you can reach Jog falls by the road route. It is around 160km from Hubli city. You can see the actual route on Google Maps. 

Are you from Bangalore? 
If you are from Bangalore, then you can take a night train from Bangalore to Hubli, which takes around 8 hours. Once you reach the Hubli railway station, you can check-in to a nearby hotel, have your breakfast and hire a car to visit Jog. You can return back to Hubli by evening, have your dinner and take the night train from Hubli to Bangalore. Next morning you are back in Bangalore. 

Well, you can also travel to Hubli by taking a Bangalore - Hubli flight.

There are trains to Shimoga directly from bangalore, u need not go hubli to reach Shimoga.

You can reach Jog falls via Shimoga. It is around 105 kms by road from Shimoga to Jog falls.

If you are planning to reach via Hubli, then it is around 164 kms by road.

Taking the Hubli route offers you better facilities in terms of hotels and connectivity.
